Help for Older People

Community First HEH is a registered charity with a membership of over 300 voluntary and community groups across the Havant and East Hampshire areas and beyond.  They offer information, support and advice to community groups via their Community Development Team, as well as providing valuable community services such as our Training, Volunteer Services and Transport.

A directory has been developed by Community First HEH which provides a list of activities and service for older people across East Hampshire. It also includes national help lines and groups that can provide advice, information and support.

Older People’s Area Link (OPAL) is funded by Hampshire County Council with specially trained volunteers available to help and support older people in the area.
They are able to guide people towards services, local groups and activities.

Living Well, Ageing Well is a directory of activities and services for older people in East Hampshire.

The CCG also commissions direct the Good Neighbourhood Support Service.  GNSS supports more than 100 voluntary groups in Hampshire, helping people who have nobody to turn to when they need help – services like taking people to NHS appointments, befriending, shopping, and sitting for carers or social clubs.
