Help & Advice For Parents
A leaflet is currently being issued to all parents via Hampshire schools from Public Health. It advises parents on common childhood illnesses, what to do, where to go and links with the healthier together website for further support.
Healthier Together provides you with information to help keep your child safe and healthy, as well as helping you decide what to do when your child is unwell.
When faced with an unwell child, parents often find the healthcare system (GPs, pharmacists, urgent care centres, walk in centres, minor injuries units, out-of-hours GP services and A&E departments) confusing to navigate. When they are unable to access local services in a timely fashion, they often end up seeking help from highly responsive services such as A&E departments and 999 ambulances. This in turn places increased strain on these already overstretched services.
