How to Request a Home Visit
Home visits take considerably more time for GPs than seeing patients at the surgery and usually patients can be examined and assessed better at the surgery. Therefore, we would always encourage patients to come to the surgeries whenever possible.
However, if you are too ill to travel, or housebound and need a home visit, please telephone the surgery as soon as possible.
To allow us to assess the urgency of each visit, our receptionist will take some basic details and the reason for requesting the visit. Should you feel the problem is urgent, please make this clear to the receptionist.
The Doctor may telephone you to discuss the problem.
Non emergency visits will usually take place between morning and afternoon surgeries. The Doctors often have several visits to do, and will visit as soon as possible. Should you get much worse, please telephone the practice to let us know.
